Department Adds New Procedure Codes to Medical Fee Schedule

The Alabama Department of Labor has added new codes and procedures to its 2018 workers' compensation medical fee schedule for physicians' fees, surgery fees and lab fees, the department announced.

The addendum includes:

• New current procedure terminology (CPT) and health care common procedure coding system (HCPCS) for physicians' maximum fees.
• New codes for in-office surgery fees, which have been revised, to $585.14 for testing procedures under code number 62321-2, and to $452.83 for injection and drainage procedures under code 62323-2. 
• New CPT and HCPCS codes for clinical lab fees.
