The House Committee on Business and Labor has recommended that the chamber pass, with amendments, a measure to increase workers' compensation benefits for people with a permanent total disability.
The amendment would remove an increase in permanent partial disability benefits. The committee recommends that Oregon's workers' compensation agency study that increase further before implementing it.
Approximately 600 people currently receiving PTD benefits in Oregon get two-thirds of their salary, capped at Oregon's average weekly wage (currently $974.20).
