The Division of Workers’ Compensation on Thursday posted revised rules that would set different reimbursement rates for medical services depending on the geographic region of California where the services are provided.
The DWC in March proposed rules to adopt Medicare’s Geographic Price Cost Indices, which would create 32 distinct regions in the state with separate geographic adjustment factors. Currently, the same statewide adjustment factor is applied to determine reimbursement owed for medical services.
