California Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed bills that would have required the Division of Workers’ Compensation to re-establish the qualified medical evaluator designation for neuropsychologists and prohibited gender-based apportionment determinations.
He also rejected a measure that would have allowed police officers and firefighters who suffer catastrophic injuries to receive up to two years of full-pay salary continuation benefits in lieu of temporary disability.
The governor vetoed the three bills on Friday, the last day for him to act on measures passed during the 2016 session.
