The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board is considering adoption of a drug formulary that would bar compounded topicals dispensed by physicians, reimburse for medications dispensed at doctor's offices only at commercial pharmacy rates, and require carriers and employers to contract with pharmacy benefit managers.
The board on Friday released a five-page “discussion document” and invited stakeholders to weigh in on its proposed pharmacy benefit plan, which includes a formulary.
