Providers File Petition to Compel Hearing on Denied QME Appointment

Six providers who say they were denied reappointment to serve as qualified medical evaluators petitioned a Southern California judge for an order compelling the Division of Workers’ Compensation to schedule an administrative hearing to review its decisions. The complaint filed Tuesday with the Los Angeles County Superior Court accuses the division of relying on so-called underground regulations in denying requests to re-certify the six QMEs.
