A new rule mandating how Ohio’s injured workers are prescribed opioids became effective Saturday.
Reimbursement for opioid prescriptions is now limited to claims in which current best medical practices are followed, including the development of an individualized treatment plan, risk assessment and close monitoring of the progress, and improvement in workers’ function.
