The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California announced that a nurse practitioner from Tennessee pleaded guilty to participating in a compound drug scheme that bilked the federal Tricare program out of more than $65 million in less than six months.
As part of the plea, Candace M. Craven admitted to conducting sham telemedicine evaluations that resulted in prescriptions for expensive compounded medications, a scheme that has also been used to rip off workers’ compensation insurers.
