Utility Company Fined $162K After Fatal Accident

A South Florida utility company faces $162,596 in proposed federal penalties after a worker was fatally injured by a steel plate that fell on him as he installed sewer lines. Douglas N. Higgins Inc. in Naples, Florida, was issued citations on May 14 by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
