Commission Ends Year Under Budget, Short on Staff

The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission operated with only 54 of 63 authorized positions and spent only 82% of the money that was budgeted for it in fiscal year 2017-18, according to an annual report released Friday. The commission’s statistical recap showed that it spent $4.14 million during the fiscal year, which ended June 30. The state legislature budgeted $5.07 million.
