After five straight years of filing loss cost decreases, the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau confirmed Tuesday that it will recommend a “significant” rate increase next year in the wake of the state’s Supreme Court ruling that killed impairment rating evaluations.
The rating bureau also has not ruled out a midyear increase to account for the decision in Protz v. Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board (Derry Area School District), said John Pedrick, the bureau’s vice president of actuarial services.
