WCRI Study Finds State Lowest Among 16 for Drug Costs

The average cost per claim for prescription drugs used to treat injured workers in Michigan was the lowest among 16 study states, the Workers' Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) reports.The study found that the average payment per claim for prescription drugs in Michigan’s workers’ compensation system was $261, or 37% lower than the median of the study states, which were California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Louisiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.The main reasons for the l...
