The Washington state Department of Labor and Industries will commemorate people who died at work last year during an April 26 ceremony in Tumwater.
The department said it will recognize the 65 work-related deaths recorded in 2017 during its Worker Memorial Day ceremony. The names of each worker who died last year will be read during a the ceremony in the department’s auditorium.
After the formal ceremony, family members of the deceased will have an opportunity to speak during in a memorial garden outside the department’s office.
