The New York Workers' Compensation Board will accept public comment on proposed medical fee schedules until Aug. 6, the board announced this week.
The board's news release notes an "overall fee increase for all provider types," and additional increases for some specialty groups "to potentially raise the number of authorized providers for injured workers." But the new fee schedules themselves still cannot be found on the board's website.
The site directs stakeholders to a fee schedule page, but the new fees are not available there. A link to OptumInsight, which contracts with the board to publish and sell the fee schedules, says the site can't be reached.
The board does indicate that comments and questions can be submitted via email to regulations@wcb.ny.gov, or by phoning Heather McMaster, deputy general counsel, at 518-486-9564.
An official with the state Department of Health, which makes recommendations on fees for hospital inpatient and ambulatory surgical center services, said those fees won't be sent to the workers' compensation board for another week or so.
