An advisory committee to Oregon’s Workers’ Compensation Board will discuss requests to draft rules for translating statements and other evidence introduced in languages other than English, and making some claim documents available in languages other than English, on May 25.
The Access to Justice Committee of the Oregon State Bar last year asked the WCB to consider adopting rules to assist injured workers who aren’t proficient in English. The committee is asking the board to create formal procedures for translating written documents into English.
