A freshman lawmaker who ran on a workers’ compensation reform platform had all three of his bills voted down Tuesday by a House subcommittee.
Delegate Lee Carter, D-Manassas, had proposed the bills as a result of a bad experience with Virginia’s workers’ compensation system, the self-avowed Democratic socialist told WorkCompCentral earlier this month.
A subcommittee of the House Commerce and Labor Committee recommended “passing by indefinitely” Carter’s House Bills 460, 461 and 462, effectively killing them for this session.
