In what’s being described as a significant change to its prescription drug formulary, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is proposing modifications that would affect drugs used for treating opioid dependency, pain, anxiety and headaches.
One of the changes, a requirement to revisit new users’ prescriptions for benzodiazepines after 30 days, would bring BWC’s formulary more into line with other workers’ comp guidelines. The drugs are used to treat anxiety.
