A former Massachusetts correctional officer will pay $308,618 in restitution and serve five years of probation after pleading guilty to workers' compensation fraud and larceny by false pretenses, the state Attorney General's Office announced Friday.
Athol resident Paul Mahan, 42, entered the guilty plea Thursday in Suffolk Superior Court.
Prosecutors say Mahan and codefendant Kelly Walsh, also of Athol, ran car dealerships in Winchendon and Orange while collecting workers' compensation benefits. They did not disclose the earnings on statements required by state law.
