Providers Charged in Kickback Scheme Walked Away From $84M in Liens

Providers indicted in what San Diego County say is one of the largest workers' compensation bribery schemes ever uncovered in the region have paid activation or filing fees on 17,901 liens with a total claimed value of $144.7 million. But they did not to activate at least 12,470 liens filed before 2013, thereby losing more than $84 million in claims.
