A state senator from Southwest Florida has introduced a bill that would give employers that are issued a stop-work order for failing to provide workers' compensation insurance more time to pay penalties and purchase a policy.SB 444 by Sen. Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, would give employers 10 days to respond to requests by the Division of Workers' Compensation to purchase workers' comp insurance, instead of the five days currently allowed.
