Two Florida contractors are facing federal citations and fines after a worker’s foot and ankle were crushed by a section of a crane that was being disassembled.
Tom Krips Construction Inc., of Fort Lauderdale, and Etherna Services Inc., of Lake Worth, were cited Oct. 25 by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They are facing proposed penalties of $29,877 and $5,174, respectively.
OSHA investigators determined that a lattice boom section of a crane fell on the employee during disassembly, crushing his foot and ankle in the May 3 incident.
