Assessments on California employers to pay for the workers’ compensation system and labor law enforcement will increase 9.4% in 2019, to $941,820,851, according to notices mailed last week by the state Department of Industrial Relations.
Total assessments are up from $860,649,877 last year. The assessments are tacked on to insurers’ premiums, while self-insured employers are billed directly.
According to the notices:
The Workers’ Compensation Administration Revolving Fund increased 10.2%, to $482,621,751, from $437,992,160.
