An employee at a chicken processing facility in Pennsylvania lost a thumb while operating a mixing machine in March, leading to a $318,000 fine for the company. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspected Birdsboro Kosher Farms Corp.'s Birdsboro facility on April 2 after receiving a report of the worker's thumb loss.
