DWC Issues Reminder on Self-Insured Political Subdivision Reports

The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation has issued a year-end reminder to self-insured political subdivisions regarding notification to the DWC when they choose to provide medical benefits to employees by directly contracting with health care providers or by contracting with health care providers through a health benefits pool.New rules regarding reporting became effective on Aug. 2, 2012, the division says.Such political subdivisions, which provided benefits as of Aug. 2, must file a DWC Form-020SI, "Self-Insured Governmental Entity Coverage Information," with the DWC by Dec. 31, 20...
