Worker's AWW Need Not Be Based on Average of Actual Pre-Accident Earnings

The Maryland Court of Special Appeals ruled that the average weekly wage for a worker who suffered severe injuries did not need to be based on the average of his actual earnings during his brief period of employment. Case: Richard Beavers Construction Inc. v. Wagstaff, No. 1977, 03/01/2018, published. Facts: Dexter Wagstaff began working for Richard Beavers Construction Inc. in February 2013. RBCI agreed to pay him $18.95 per hour, and Wagstaff understood that he was expected to be available to work 40 hours per week, although he did not have to report to work when it was raining or snowing....
