DWC Suspends QME for Medical Board Discipline

The Division of Workers’ Compensation suspended a qualified medical evaluator who was placed on probation by the Medical Board of California in 2016. The DWC added Dr. Janak Mehtani to its online “disciplined physicians list.” The notice says Mehtani was placed on probation from Oct. 11 through Oct. 11, 2019, “concurrent with Medical Board probation and discipline order dated Oct. 11, 2018.” The Medical Board of California in August 2016 placed Mehtani on probation for a three-year period ending Sept. 19, 2019.
