A federal judge has ruled that one of five medical providers who have refused to settle a lawsuit by State Compensation Insurance Fund is in default.
Judge Andrew J. Guilford, with the U.S. District Court for Central California, ruled after a Friday hearing that Dr. Israel Chambi of Santa Ana missed the 21-day deadline for filing an answer to State Fund's complaint by more than a year.
