Police are on the lookout for a Minnesota claimant who allegedly submitted an X-ray that she found on the internet, along with a fake police report, to seek workers’ compensation benefits, according to an online report by Southern Minnesota Today.
Kathleen Grace Saunders, formerly of New Ulm, has been charged with two felony counts of forgery and insurance fraud, according to the report. Authorities say she has reportedly moved to Illinois.
The newspaper said Saunders claimed she was in a car crash in February while working for Rural Computer Consultants. She said she was hospitalized and suffered six broken ribs and other injuries. She included a police report and an X-ray of her supposed injuries.
Investigators, however, say the police report was a forgery and the X-ray, of a woman in England who had been in a bicycle accident, had been downloaded from the internet.
Saunders also goes by the aliases Carol Holcomb, Kathy Neese and Kathleen Holcomb-Sanders. A warrant has been issued for her arrest, the newspaper said.
