An association of New York insurance agents applauded the passage of a bill requiring workers' compensation insurers to notify policyholders at least 30 days before their renewal date if their premiums are slated to go up more than 10%.
The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State (PIANY) announced in a press release Thursday its support for that bill and others nearing final approval. The policyholder notice bill, A. 1620, passed both legislative chambers earlier this month but has not yet made it to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's desk.
