A bill filed last week in the Florida Legislature would increase the initial term of office for a workers’ compensation judge to six years, rather than the current initial term of four years.
House Bill 687 would also set the annual salary for a full-time judge of compensation claims at $10,000 less than the salary paid to a circuit court judge. The deputy chief judge of compensation claims would receive an annual salary that is $1,000 more than that paid to a judge of compensation claims.
