A Wisconsin explosives manufacturer exposed about 40 employees to lead levels of two-and-a-half times the legal limit, the federal workplace safety agency said.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed roughly $143,000 in penalties against R. Stresau Laboratory Inc.'s Spooner facility last week.
OSHA took chemical samples at the facility and tested a handful of employees. Four tested positive for lead overexposure. About 36 others worked in the same environment.
