Goldberg Segalla Appoints 2 in Garden City

The Goldberg Segalla law firm announced Tuesday that it has added special counsel Matthew P. Palazzola and associate Derek M. Zisser to the firm’s general liability and workers’ compensation practice groups in Garden City, New Jersey.
Palazzola was previously with Weiss, Wexler and Wornow in New York City. Zisser was previously with Miranda Sambursky Slone Sklarin Verveniotis in Mineola, the firm said.
Palazzola defends insurers in complex workers’ compensation matters. He is an experienced trial attorney and was once the lead attorney in the settlement department for a major multinational insurer, according to Goldberg Segalla.
While attending Hofstra University School of Law, Palazzola served as president of the school’s Sports and Entertainment Law Society and additionally as the alumni affairs coordinator of the Student Bar Association. He earned dual bachelors in philosophy and film and television from Boston University.
Zisser focuses his practice on tort liability, including premises liability, products liability, property damage, sports and recreation liability, construction accidents, automobile/trucking liability, dram shop liability, pharmaceutical liability, the Americans with Disabilities Act, insurance coverage and workers’ compensation matters. He earned his bachelor’s in history from Hofstra University, and a law degree from Touro College.
