The Illinois Appellate Court will not reconsider its determination that a police officer who fell while descending a flight of stairs at work was entitled to compensation for his back injury.In December, the court found that John Simons' employment had placed him at an increased risk of falling, based on the number of times per day he was required to go up and down the stairs at the police station where he worked, and so his fall was compensable.The case was Village of Villa Park v.
