Fencing Manufacturer Fined $199,996 for Continued Violations

Thursday, January 11, 2018 | 0

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited chain-link fence manufacturer Aruvil International Inc. $199,996 for continued safety violations at its Pennsauken, New Jersey, facility.

OSHA said in a statement that a June 2017 inspection found inadequate lighting and a lack of machine guards. The workplace safety regulator also said Aruvil failed to provide workers with proper fall protection equipment and did not train them on safe handling of hazardous chemicals.

Similar violations identified in August 2015 led to a $40,000 fine.

Aruvil has 15 business days from receiving the citations to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director, or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
