The Tennessee Workers' Compensation Advisory Council will meet Thursday to vote on one of the largest proposed rate reductions in years.
The council, which advises state officials on compensation issues, met in August and unveiled a proposed 19% rate reduction for the voluntary and assigned-risks markets, as recommended by the National Council on Compensation Insurance.
At its Thursday meeting, the council will hear from two actuaries and from NCCI about the recommended rate reduction, and will examine other workers' compensation data, according to the agenda for the meeting.
