The North Carolina Industrial Commission is proposing five rule changes regarding the process of handling tort claims.
The commission, in addition to adjudicating workers’ compensation claims, reviews tort claims filed by state agencies. Much of the caseload is made up of medical malpractice claims filed by prison inmates.
