Bull Shoals Police Chief Acquitted on 2 Charges; Mistrial on 3rd Charge

Bull Shoals Police Chief Daniel Sutterfield has been acquitted on federal charges of conspiracy and falsifying a police report, and a mistrial was declared on the count accusing Sutterfield of using excessive force, according to a local news report. Jurors deliberated for nearly seven-and-a-half hours before reaching a verdict in the case, which stemmed from Sutterfield’s July 9, 2013, arrest of domestic abuse suspect Nicholas Dore. He was accused of using unreasonable force by kicking Dore, hitting him with the butt of a shotgun and tasing him repeatedly, all while Dore was handcuffed....
