The owners of a Northern California roofing company who pleaded no contest in July to eight counts of workers’ compensation insurance fraud used the proceeds from the sale of their home to deliver two $100,000 checks as the first part of their restitution sentence, the Belmont Patch reported.Additional restitution could be ordered during a Nov. 27 sentencing hearing.John and Camille Applegate, who operated Hallmark Roofing, were arrested in April for allegedly failing to pay workers’ compensation premiums between 2007 and 2011.
