Court Orders Claimant's Attorney to Refund Fee Award to Employer

A divided Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court on Tuesday ruled that a claimant's attorney must return the $14,750 fee he collected for successfully defending his client against an employer's petition to discontinue the payment of benefits, as the ruling was later reversed on appeal. The case was County of Allegheny v. WCAB (Parker), No. 82 C.D. 2016.  Harold Parker injured his shoulder while working for the County of Allegheny in 1993.
