The Workers’ Compensation Ethics Advisory Committee identified five violations of judicial ethics following investigations into judges accused of having a share in a law firm that appears before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, allowing a court reporter to object to the way an applicant’s attorney asked questions, and directing “unwelcome attention and conduct” toward an attorney.
The Ethics Advisory Committee in calendar year 2017 resolved a total of 31 complaints, including 14 complaints from 2016 and 17 of the 20 it received last year.
