An Ohio trucker who continued to work while receiving out-of-work benefits pleaded guilty to workers' compensation fraud, the state Bureau of Workers' Compensation announced.
A Stark County Court of Common Pleas judge sentenced Christopher James, 43, of Massillon, to three years of community control and 200 hours of community service. James paid $7,740 in restitution.
The trucker worked for two companies while collecting temporary total disability benefits. The Bureau of Workers' Compensation's investigative team began looking into James after receiving an anonymous tip.
