DWC Reports 6% Increase in Eligible IMR Applications for 2018

Requests for independent medical review continue to increase, with 2018 seeing a 6% increase in eligible applications over 2017, according to a new report by the California Division of Workers’ Compensation. The division reports 185,783 eligible IMR applications were processed in 2018, compared to 175,116 in 2017 and 172,452 in 2016. According to the report, the number of “unique” applications was fairly steady over the three-year period starting in 2016.
