A construction company is facing proposed federal penalties of $33,259 after two workers were killed while working in a trench at a Miami work site.
Archer Western Construction Inc., based in Atlanta, was issued citations on Aug. 1 by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
OSHA inspectors determined that a section of a concrete highway barrier collapsed on the two employees as they removed a storm drain system. The incident occurred Feb. 4 on Interstate 95 near 62nd Street. The two men were in their 20s, according to news reports at the time.
