Supporters of legislation that would allow Tennessee employers to opt out of the workers' compensation system are hoping to find another lawmaker to carry the torch after the lead author took the bill off the calendar last week, according to a report by the Nashville Business Journal.
Jerry Murphy, a Dallas workers' compensation specialist and member of the Association of Responsible Alternatives to Workers' Compensation, told the newspaper that he and other supporters plan to meet with legislators this week and hope to find a new author for the measure.
