An insurance salesman in Franklin who served a stint as mayor of the city was arrested on felony insurance fraud charges, the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation announced on Tuesday.
The board’s Enforcement Division accuses Michael “Brad” Yates, 45, of taking $14,000 in premium payments from businesses without issuing valid workers’ compensation insurance policies. Instead, he allegedly sent bogus insurance certificates.
