The Texas Division of Workers' Compensation will host the conferences May 15-17 in San Marcos and June 27-29 in Irving, the division announced.

“We’re going to hear firsthand how the leading gig economy company is affecting employment, regulation, benefits and classification issues,” said division Commissioner Ryan Brannan. “We’ll hear from Uber about a workers’ compensation-like product that they are offering in Texas and other states. It’s an incredibly timely topic.”

Also on the panel will be Albert Betts, executive director of the Insurance Council of Texas, and Dan Paschal, deputy commissioner of the Division of Workers' Compensation.

Registration for the conferences can be done at the division website.
