Board Yanks Physician's Authorization to Treat Injured Workers

The Workers’ Compensation Board has revoked Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakeem Khalaf’s authorization to treat injured workers for gross negligence and gross incompetence, effective Feb. 1. The revocation is based on an order by the state Board of Professional Medical Conduct, which also charged Khalaf with negligence on more than one occasion, incompetence on more than one occasion, failure to maintain records, improper delegation, and fraudulent practice based on multiple patients for whom he provided gynecological, prenatal and obstetrical care.
