The Assembly Insurance Committee on Wednesday approved a bill creating a presumption that post-traumatic stress disorder is a compensable injury for California police and firefighters, and a bill imposing numerous changes relating to medical provider networks.
The committee voted 12-0 to pass Senate Bill 537, which author Sen. Gerald Hill, D-San Mateo, said seeks to reduce medical disputes and increase transparency with regard to how provider networks operate.
