High Lead Levels Result in $40,000 Fine for Manufacturer

A New York manufacturer has reached a settlement agreement with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration after the agency found high levels of lead throughout the company's facility. Acme Parts Inc. of Brooklyn will pay $40,000 under the agreement. In addition, the company has agreed to hire a qualified lead hazards and abatement consultant to evaluate the facility and recommend improved practices.
