A 65-year-old employee of the food supplier Keystone Foods lost his fingertip while cleaning an unguarded saw blade, leading to a federal safety inspection that yielded a $76,000 fine.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined Keystone Foods, of Bakerhill, on Sept. 1 for several violations of safety protocol.
Those included:
Exposing employees to falls due to unguarded platforms.
